ugh I love Vanessa. Like you all do not even understand how much I love this character. I mean I know most people love Claudia because let’s face it, the target demographic for this show is younger, and Claudia IS amazing. (So are ALL the women on this show) and I don’t need to talk about how much I understand Myka or love Helena BUT….

I love Vanessa. I’m pretty sure I’ve said that in other places but I don’t care. because it deserves to be said again. You guys they made her COOL. This is a mature (some might say ‘older’ female character on TV) and she is a fucking badass WHO IS NOT DESPERATELY TRYING TO BE 20. This is so fucking rare I can’t even. And yet her age is never made into a joke. It’s an asset. She’s a fucking badass doctor and calm as fuck under pressure and she has ROMANTIC FEELS FOR SOMEONE WHO RETURNS THEM. And yet even without the delightful Artie/Vanessa romance, Dr. Calder is NEVER portrayed as the crazy, lonely, desperate, insert derogatory stereotype of older woman here. This character and her relationship with Artie is so sweet and so mature and so REAL. IT IS BASICALLY PERFECT. And I just love this moment so much because here is Artie, the grumpy fuddy-duddy and you’d think Vanessa  would be to, but NO WAY BECAUSE VANESSA IS AWESOME. 

And I know this isn’t going to mean shit to you teenagers but omfg its so wonderful to see a female character whose entire existence is a giant “FUCK YOU” in the face of all the social discourses that say a woman’s value basically only lies in her youth and sex appeal (although I happen to find Vanessa quite fetching also). 

Gdi Warehouse you are so brilliant but then you go and do such monumentally stupid things with these amazingly perfect characters you have created.
